What Is Lifestyle Photography
You'll frequently hear me refer to my work as being "lifestyle". Often times people will ask me, "what is lifestyle?". I like to describe it as candidly or naturally posed. For example, referring to a mother and her toddler daughter, "Mom, look at her and brush your fingers through her hair. Tickler her belly. Hold her hand and walk this way."
There's not a whole lot of "Tilt your head, look at the camera, and smile!" It's a way to capture interactions and emotions, rather than forced, unnatural stares.
What I love about this style of photography is that you don't have to be a model. You don't have to worry about your hair being just right or your shirt not wrinkling, because this style is meant to capture the imperfect and make it beautiful.
